Businesses often don’t think about entering awards and view it as a daunting task. But if you think about the awards process as a marketing and sales activity, it may change your mind.
Winning an award can bring a business a certain number of opportunities to raise its profile. Winners will be publicised and celebrated by the award scheme itself, they may get featured in industry publications or the local paper, and of course, it will generate brand awareness and leads for the business.
Because of this, we always make it a priority to include relevant award submissions in our marketing and sales strategies for our clients.
This is why we were delighted to hear that Fergusson Real Estate, one of our clients, recently won Agency of the Year and Agent of the Year in Cooma from RateMyAgent.
When Shannon Fergusson, the Managing Director, told us he had won we were thrilled for him and his team, but we knew we had to get to work quickly to leverage the awards as much as possible.
When awards are won, new clients often come knocking on your door when they hear the buzz about your company excellence – IF you play your cards right, that is.
We know from working with Shannon that his business objective is to get more sales listings, so we wanted to create a campaign to generate leads for this.
Therefore, we put in place the following marketing activities to promote the awards, increase brand awareness and generate leads:
- adding “award-winning” team/realtor/agency into his web copy,
- adding homepage banner imagery on the Fergusson Real Estate website,
- creating a landing page to generate leads with an accompanied Facebook and Instagram campaign, and writing and distributing a media release which resulted in an article in his local newspaper, The Monaro Post.
As Shannon said, “Method+Marketing’s campaign has generated a lot of buzz about the awards. I can’t walk down Sharp St. without someone congratulating me and I have noticed an increase in inquiries.”
If you are interested in raising the profile of your business we recommend starting with a Marketing Planning Workshop and/or Marketing and Sales Strategy.
