"Katie worked with us to create and communicate clear messaging on what we strive to deliver as a company, creating an about and meet the team section."

"Katie and Ange worked closely with our SEO team ensuring that the changes they were making didn’t interfere with our organic ratings. They have worked hard to ensure every detail on the new website is perfect and in line with their original design scope."

"We now have a live website that has clean and clear branding and is easy to use and understand for our customers. We know that the work Method+Marketing has completed is going to improve our customer experience and increase our company performance. We can’t thank Katie and Ange enough."

Impact Electrical is a locally owned and operated business on the Central Coast providing electrical services for homeowners, businesses and property managers; including Level 2 electrical services and 24-hour emergency electrical services.

Impact Electrical initially engaged Method+Marketing to help manage their Google Ads campaigns. As part of this service, we take a good look at your campaign landing pages to ensure they are relevant, informative, user-friendly, well-aligned with your brand and optimised for lead generation. During the process, we found that Impact Electrical’s website was in need of some work. The design, content and imagery on their website was not aligned with their brand or service offering and it was looking quite cluttered and outdated. Together, we decided it was time for a makeover. This would include a complete overhaul of the website content and a complete website redesign

Throughout this process, it was important to Impact Electrical to:

  • maintain the strong organic search rankings that they have achieved through their SEO efforts;
  • improve the general visual appeal of the website and update their imagery;
  • clearly outline their service offering for each of their target audiences;
  • improve the website content to sound more professional and conversational;
  • gain a more intuitive user experience;
  • and increase online lead generation for their services.

The Process

The website redesign process had five main components:

    • Rework the site navigation – The old website was hard to navigate and the services highlighted were not organised in an intuitive way. We reworked the sitemap to ensure friendly, easy-to-use site navigation so their customers could clearly understand what services are on offer.
    • Create new wireframes – The next step was to deliver wireframes of the desktop and mobile site. Wireframes are basically the skeleton or prototype of the website. With a wireframe, we can easily outline the website layout and where specific elements will be placed. It helps demonstrate how the new website will look and behave, before imagery and content is populated on the site.
    • Apply the brand – While Impact Electrical wanted to keep their logo and colours as is, they gave us liberty to apply new fonts and imagery to the website to better reflect their young, savvy and personable brand. The previous website was dark, cluttered and outdated – and lacked their vibrant brand personality. Impact Electrical also invested in a photoshoot with Lisa Lent Photography to capture new professional headshots for the new About page, which was added as part of this process, as well as some action shots of the team at work to utilise throughout the website.
    • Write new website content – Impact Electrical’s website content was a bit all over the place and they had a previous SEO company who injected a lot of keywords that did not always make sense or sound approachable and conversational. Our goals with the new website copy were to:
      • Maintain the integrity of their SEO and utilise keywords wherever possible and relevant.
      • Highlight their brand personality and make them stand out from the competition. Impact Electrical is an innovative and meticulous team. They really go the extra mile when it comes to customer service and they make an active effort to support their local community, so we really wanted to highlight this.
      • Understand who their key audiences are (homeowners, businesses and property managers) and outline the key services and benefits for each audience. It was important to make the key messages simple to digest for website visitors.
      • Add an About page to the website to help build trust with the audience and showcase their team’s diverse skill sets.
  • Make sure the call to actions such as “request a quote” and “book now” are clear and easy to find.
  • Go live with the new website – Once all of the content and wireframes were approved, it was time to go live! We are so happy with the result and encourage you to check it out here.

The Outcome

While we are still waiting to see how conversion rates and traffic play out with the new content and design, we can already see Impact Electrical’s vibrant brand personality injected throughout the new pages. Their key messages and services are clearly outlined and customers can clearly see their points of difference from the competition. “We feel this new look will really captivate their visitor’s interests with the more bold, branded visuals and clear, engaging text,” said Director of Digital Services, Katie Cowling. “The new website is so clean and fresh and the photographs that Lisa Lent Photography took work so well in the new design, really making the pages pop,” she concluded.
